Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation was formed in July 2003 as a result of the sale of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center to Community Health Systems. As a new entity, the Foundation needed to differentiate itself as a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping clients prevent disease and illness, not as a traditional healthcare provider that treats illness and injury.

The Anderson Group analyzed the Foundation’s strategic plan and helped the organization articulate its brand purpose: "To help the Pottstown community enthusiastically embrace a healthier lifestyle." We also developed integrated solutions to raise awareness about the Foundation and its efforts.

Business impact

Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $11 million to over 100 community non-profit organizations that support the Foundation’s mission of promoting healthy living. More importantly, the Foundation has had a measureable impact on the health and wellness of its service area, which is substantiated by the research results of its second community health assessment within a five-year period.
