As part of our pro bono work within Berks County, The Anderson Group continued its public relations efforts for the third year on behalf of People First, by supporting an annual, day-long event that fed over 1200 homeless and at-risk people in November. In addition to public relations activities, The Anderson Group also designed the logo for the event.
Steve Elmarzouky, owner of Queen City Family restaurant in Reading, PA, is the founder of the annual event. His intent is to serve his community, while offering those in attendance an emotional uplift during a stressful economic time. More than 100 volunteers, including a number of area businesses and nonprofit organizations, ensure that the event comes together seamlessly for each guest, with consideration for transportation, as well as donated gifts and free flu shots.
Elmarzouky’s hope is to encourage other restaurants and businesses in the region and across the nation to find ways to give back within their own communities. |
