Creating a Local Community Hub

After the results from Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation’s second community needs assessment were in, it was clear that the community wanted a one-stop resource where they could find local health and wellness information. Up until this point, the Foundation functioned primarily as a grant-giving organization; formally reaching out to the community would be a new endeavor. We helped them establish and brand their new "face-to-the-community," Mission Healthy Living. We created a website that was designed to be a complete resource. In addition, the website has a social media component that allows the Foundation to share their information on Facebook and Twitter. The site also has the ability to allow the community to form groups where they can learn from other members, share their own tips and info, and grasp the power to make big changes in their life, one small, manageable step at a time.
